Out on the ridgelines near Winmalee, this circuit delivers sweeping escarpment views, steady climbs, and a genuine sense of space. Walking in a direction that keeps the steeper switchback kinder on the knees, while still giving you a satisfying workout.
From Grose Head South Lookout, the landscape stretches wide, with glimpses down to the winding Grose River far below. Along the way you’ll pass towering eucalypts, dramatic sandstone formations, and an otherworldly gully that feels uniquely Blue Mountains.
The track is fun and welcoming, making it perfect for adventurous hiking .

Difficulty: Moderate/Challenging– the tracks are a mix of bush and fire trails, including undulating and steep sections. You need good balance and to be comfortable on uneven terrain.
Fitness Requirements: Good level of fitness, good general health.

WHAT TO BRING
Bring in a small backpack (please allow space for a 20cm x 15cm lunch box provided):
2-3 litres of drinking water (including electrolytes)
Thermos of hot water (for your tea/coffee), or ready-made and a mug
Rain Jacket and warm layers
Cap/Hat
Swimmers and a towel if taking a dip
Headtorch - fully charged (mandatory)
Sunscreen
Personal Medications
Tissues, wet wipes, and clip lock bags (for toileting). Our leave no trace policy requires you take out all waste such as toilet paper and wet wipes. Coaches will carry a shovel and spare toilet paper.
Poles (optional, but recommended)
Boots or trail runners
