Hiking along Nattai Creek to Forty Foot Falls

Last weekend, our journey led us on the mystical Mittagong Waterfalls hike—a hidden gem nestled amidst iconic Australian bushland. The Nattai River winds through the region, providing sustenance and life to the diverse ecosystems of the area.

Creek Crossings are always a highlight.

Creeks like Nattai Creek and waterfalls such as those at Sixty Foot Falls and Forty Foot Falls add to the uniqueness of this landscape.

From the moment we set foot on the trail, it was evident that this would be no ordinary hike. Our experienced Diamond guides, Michele and Jo, who have meticulously curated and tested the route, ensured that every step of the journey was both safe and exhilarating.

One of the most thrilling aspects of our adventure was the opportunity to explore trails less travelled, away from the main routes frequented by the masses. As we meandered through the diverse terrain, we were treated to a myriad of breathtaking sights, from hidden waterfalls cascading down spectacular rocky cliffs to spectacular viewpoints offering panoramic vistas.

But it wasn't just the natural beauty that captivated us—it was the sense of camaraderie and shared excitement among our group of adventurous women. With every uphill climb and rocky descent, we encouraged and supported each other.

Sharing special moments.

What truly set our Diamond Day Hiking experience apart was the attention to detail and care that went into every aspect of the journey. From the homemade, healthy, and delicious meals prepared for us to the meticulously organized logistics, every detail was thoughtfully planned to ensure maximum enjoyment and comfort.

Safety was paramount throughout the hike, with our leaders equipped with remote first aid training and all necessary safety equipment. Whether navigating a rock scramble to the base of the falls or pausing for a photo op amidst the breathtaking scenery, we felt confident knowing that we were in capable hands.

Feeling safe to explore.

One of the highlights of the day was the opportunity to immerse ourselves fully in the features of the hike, without feeling rushed or pressured.
